Ian Thompson from Elysian's Strategic Advisory Board will represent the company at London Market Claims 2026 this October. This year's agenda covers claims operating models, claims technology, delegated authority, and the relationships that keep the London market moving. On paper, those read as four separate topics. In practice, they add up to one question for anyone running a delegated program. How much control can you hold without slowing down the people doing the work?
Before joining Elysian's Strategic Advisory Board, Ian spent his career in senior claims leadership at Zurich Insurance, most recently as Group Chief Claims Officer, with oversight across more than 200 territories and 7.5 million claims each year. Running claims at that scale taught him that consistency breaks down long before volume does. A claims operating model that works cleanly in one territory can fail quietly in another, and the gap usually shows up as leakage, delay, or a coverholder relationship nobody trusts anymore. Ian brings that experience directly to London Market Claims this year, to the conversations about whether operating models and delegated authority hold together at scale, or start to come apart.
